Trap Free Montana Public Lands, Inc. (TFMPL) is a nonprofit, Montana citizen driven, coalition that formed at the end of 2013 as a grassroots ballot initiative committee for the 2014 ballot.
Our progressive efforts continue as we advocate for much needed trapping reform and safe, responsible use of our treasured, yet, minimal public lands in Montana.
We have powerful opposition from pro-trapping groups, with significant funding and out-of-state backing who are determined to preserve all the cruelty they inflict at any cost.

Our National Wildlife Refuges number over 500. These refuges are reported home to more than 700 species of birds, 220 species of mammals, 250 species of reptiles and amphibians, 1,000 species of fish as well as innumerable invertebrates and plants. The refuges are promoted to provide safe haven for 280 endangered species.

Well over half of them allow trapping!

Now where does trapping fit in to refuge, shelter, conservation, restoration and safe haven? It doesn't!
