Bipartisan Sportsmen's Act of 2015

May 24, 2016

Knowing the Sportsman Heritage & Recreation Enhancement Act (SHARE) is anything but sporting, some members of Congress are trying to bury this extreme anti-wildlife bill as an amendment to the Energy Policy Modernization Act (S.2012).

Unethical practices such as trapping would be defined as a form of hunting.

If this bill is passed, the damage to wildlife and conservation will be dramatic and far-reaching and jeopardizes what has been and needs to be achieved for wildlife.

S.405 - Bipartisan Sportsmen's Act of 2015

The U.S. Congress is considering a bill called the Sportsmen’s Act that would allow cruel steel-jawed leghold traps to be used on more federal lands. Quietly tucked into the bill, hunting is defined to include trapping. "If you don't look at the definition … you would not know that it involves trapping," Goodwin said. "A lot of people on Capitol Hill had no idea."
